Keeping My Mind Intact.
This is one of the brief, bi-hourly (is that once every two hours or twice each individual hour?) breaks I take to keep myself sane. As you can see, my pioneering foray into the world of extreme! prose is generating masses of interest from fans and rivals alike.
I am currently up to 15 hours and 33 minutes as of time of writing, and will conclude at nine pm with either a flourished 'The End' or muttered curse that my work in progressed has failed. It may interest you to know that the novellette is currently on page fifty, in hand-written A4 (or 'fat, short foolscap' to some) sheets. It began as a whimsical fantasy a la the previously-mentioned Vathek, morphed into a deranged nautical fantasy (retaining the whimsy), transformed into a Gothic Horror tale involving queer goings-on and far too much sorcery (with overtones of Lovecraft and Borges) and has currently found a niche involving supernatural horror of the 'AAAARGH, DAEMONS UNT DISECTIONS!' variety.
We shall see how we fare. I may post it on here, although I doubt it. But then, I'm gong to type it anyway so I might as well. Perhaps I'll hold a caucus.
